About Us...Diane Woodman
I live with my husband in a lovely, remote artists' valley west of Ottawa, Canada. How I serendipitously got into soapmaking: At Christmas, 2000, a package containing homemade soap arrived in our country mailbox. It was from a long-lost cousin in California who wanted to re-connect with her relatives. After using her soaps for a few months, our dry winter skin problems disappeared. Thinking that the solution lay in homemade soap, I searched local stores, and tried out all the available products, only to be disappointed in the shapes, the scents and the quality. So, dear cousin encouraged me to make my own soaps, sharing her basic recipe and her knowledge and experience. It took many months to streamline the process of producing beautiful bars of glycerin-rich soaps. In so doing, I discovered a passion for the work. I offer you the fruits of this passion.
Here's a photo of our home. We're surrounded by forest, and overlooking a beaver pond. Wildlife is abundant here, and it's a great environment in which to live and work. |
